FAQs

We strive to provide Timely Access to Physical Therapy Services, without the barriers and delays associated with insurance authorization and other provider referrals.

Can I go to physical therapy without an injury?YES. Physical therapists are experts of the musculoskeletal system, and excel at assessing and treating movement dysfunctions and imbalances that cause performance deficits or may cause future injury. We provide expertise in developing customized programs for all functional levels, whether that means you are trying to improve your ability to walk, rise from sitting, get up from the floor, reduce fall risk, improve balance, perform stairs, lift objects, reach overhead, sleep, check your blind spot, stand tall, garden, optimize sport specific performance or rehabilitate an injury.
Direct Access
As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I assess, diagnose, and treat movement dysfunction and pain. No physician referral required. Frequently, this saves time and money on unnecessary tests, procedures, and provider visits. At times, we will recommend you see other providers if we determine further medical evaluation is needed. I have a network of medical doctors/specialists to whom I refer to help coordinate your care.
Out-of-Network Provider (OON)We are an Out-of-Network (OON), fee-for-service clinic. We collect payment at the time of service. We do not directly accept insurance. However, many times insurance companies have OON benefits and you may be able to submit for reimbursement of therapy services.
Insurance Reimbursement for ServicesIf your insurance company provides OON benefits, you may submit a claim with them, which may be eligible for reimbursement. We can provide you with a Superbill/Invoice if requested at the time of completion of all physical therapy appointments.
OON Benefits/ Insurance AuthorizationThis only requires you to make a quick call to your insurance company to ask about your OON physical therapy benefits and to see if physician referral or pre-authorization is required. We do not directly deal with insurance companies.
Why OON?An OON model allows us to spend the appropriate amount of time with you. It allows us to bypass longer wait times associated with insurance authorization and obtaining physician referral. It also allows us to treat more holistically, as insurance companies many times limit treatment to a single diagnosis at a time, and focus towards associated specific goals and objective measures for that diagnosis. There is more freedom to treat without insurance involvement. Likely, you will need less visits and may spend less than at a traditional PT practice when you consider your deductible, co-pay, and extra visits needed.
Traditional Insurance ModelInsurance reimbursement cuts continue to shape PT services, making therapist-to-client time limited, and forcing more hand-offs to support staff, and a push towards non-specific care: like modalities and warm-up equipment. This often leads to more visits, delayed healing, and greater costs. We do not agree with this traditional model: we want to give you appropriate time and more focused care.
